The aims by which this mission is achieved are guided by an unflinching commitment to empowerment and transformation. This commitment is operationalised through the manner in which the Kagiso Trust Group interacts with communities, government, business, civil society, as well as the manner in which its own internal management systems are designed and implemented. Our aims can be summarised as the following:

• Promote self-reliant, sustainable, effective and replicable development models
• Facilitate the establishment of community organisations to access skills and resource to implement projects aimed at self-help, self-sufficiency, sustainability and improvement in the quality of lives of ordinary people.
• Contribute to the development and transformation of the South African society from deprivation and racial oppression towards democracy, liberty, justice and equality among people irrespective of their colour, creed, religion or origin.
• Participate in the creation and sustenance of a vibrant non-government sector working constructively with the rest of the civil society, government and the private sector for the benefit of South Africa as a whole.
